About this course

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Production Basic course is perfect for people who have their own simple home studio, work completely inside the computer and who:

  • Have a basic understanding of electronic music and DAWs (Digital Audio Workstation) such as Cubase, Ableton or Presonus Studio one.
  • Have written a basic demo they want constructive production advice on.
  • Have the desire to progress but don’t have the knowledge, skills or confidence to present a track to labels or DJs.

We aim to provide a unique one-to-one mentoring experience that interacts directly with you, via Skype and its screen share facility, to ensure we cover what YOU need and what YOU want to learn in order to take your production to the next level.

Whatever style of music you make or whatever level you are at this efficient tutoring method will mean you will see better results, specific to your needs, much faster than following a generic video or you tube tutorial all in the comfort of your own studio, using the tools you have available.

The content of each course will be individually designed and structured towards whatever meets your requirements up to a basic level and regardless of which DAW you use we will endeavour to explain the core fundamental principles of what you need to do to improve and offer instant guidance and support.

The session will start by analysing your work to date and discussing what you think its positives and negatives are, if any, and then discussing what we think we should cover together in order to focus on and improve its basic mixdown, mastering and content.

We can examine topics such as:

  • Basic DAW walk through.
  • Introduction to Groups, Inserts, Sends and Bussess.
  • Choosing the right Vst instruments and effects.
  • Basic EQing, compression techniques.
  • The basic fundamentals of electronic bass music.
  • How to build a framework of a track that will work on the dancefloor and with the DJs.
  • Tips on how to mixdown your track better.
  • Tricks to composing and choosing the right key.
  • Working with mono and stereo.
  • Basic sampling pros and cons.
  • How to choose the right samples for your projects.
  • How to cut up breaks and how to use audio.
  • How to import and bounce your own stems.
  • Using Spectrum and phase analysers to improve your mixdowns.
  • Basic mastering with the master buss.
  • Examine key frequency positives and pitfalls.
  • How to compare and test your tracks and measure the overall loudness of your mixdown.

If needed we will give you some of our exclusive samples, breaks and presets to help you on your way.

After each two hour long session the student will hopefully be able to implement what they have learnt to their track or a new demo ready to re-analyse their progress at the start of the next lesson. It may also be beneficial for the student to send individual parts / stems of their track for more detailed analysis by the tutor.

Can I really learn that much on a course this short?
[vc_column_text]Yes you can! Our crash courses are structured to be intensive and informative, and students gain a great deal of knowledge from them. We constantly monitor the content and delivery of all our courses and if they didn’t work we wouldn’t be running them!
[/vc_column_text]
Is there a possibility of releasing my music through Technique Recordings or Worldwide Audio Recordings?
[vc_column_text]Yes, that’s a possibility. After the course is completed the tutor will mentor the student and continue to give them advice and even, potentially, put them forward for consideration for a potential release on Technique or Worldwide Audio recordings.[/vc_column_text]
Do you offer refunds if I don't want to continue or miss my agreed session?
[vc_column_text]No, unfortunately we can’t offer refunds once you have paid your fee and/or if you don’t give us at least 24 hours notice that you are going to miss your session.
[/vc_column_text]
